Toronto father and son team of Dan and Myles Cook purchased a small vineyard in Argentina’s Uco Valley in 2017, initially selling their grapes to some of the country’s top producers. In 2021, they took the next step—crafting their own wines from the estate. Their debut releases include a Malbec (with 10% Cabernet Franc) and a Cabernet Franc (with 10% Malbec), both showcasing the region’s high-altitude character.
Hand-harvested and meticulously crafted, both wines were fermented in stainless steel and aged for 16 months in French oak barriques—50% second-use and 50% third-use—enhancing their depth and complexity.
The Malbec is a deep ruby hue, offering layered aromas of ripe blackberry, plum, and violet, alongside hints of spice and earthy undertones. On the palate, it’s rich and velvety, with smooth tannins, vibrant acidity, and flavors of dark cherry, licorice, and a lingering touch of oak spice. A true reflection of the Uco Valley’s terroir. 14.1% ABV.
The Cabernet Franc reveals a mix of ripe red and black fruits, smoky notes, and warming spices like nutmeg and black pepper. Brambly black fruit, raspberry, dried thyme, and earthy nuances add to its complexity. On the palate, firm tannins and bright acidity frame crisp black cherry and blueberry flavors. A structured, food-friendly wine that pairs beautifully with grilled red meats. 13.7% ABV (though some labels read 14.7%!).
Both wines are drinking beautifully now but have the potential to cellar for 7 to 10 years

I don’t typically drink Argentinian wines but this is a great Cab Franc that’s ready to drink now!
